Common Sense On A Roll

 Columbia University

Today Columbia University has a very special guest speaker. It is none other than Mahmoud Amadenejad. Now why in the world would an American university invite a sworn enemy of our nation to speak on campus? I suppose the intellectual elites are so smart that they have lost all of their common sense. They don't realize that they would be the first to lose their heads under Sharia law. The actions of Columbia University is a slap in the face to every soldier fighting insurgents armed with Iranian weapons and to the families of those who have lost their lives to those weapons. What are these people thinking?

 More than Fine

I am listening to a Switchfoot song called "More Than Fine". The song refers to a longing for more than just the mediocre. The desire for more than the everyday. The search for fulfillment only to be found in Christ. This is where I am right now, caught up in the everyday but hungry for something more. I find myself longing for revival, yet dreading it knowing what it will require of me. I've grown accustomed to ruling my little kingdom. To give it up requires a serious swallowing of my pride. Pray for me.

God bless.

 Sir Edmund Burke

Sir Edmund Burke once said, "The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing." This is all to true today. In a world in which evil is rearing its ugly head everywhere, good men who will act are few and far between. Our leaders argue over silly things, huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf, but never blowing the house in. Empty words and empty threats in the face of those bent on our destruction is a sign of weakness in the eyes of an enemy who will kill us because of it. Our leaders are holding hearings on everything from appointees to the court system to what color underwear is appropriate to wear on Labor Day, all the while proposing government social programs that are going to bankrupt our nation at a time in which she is enbroiled in a war for survival. We have got to become more interested in American security than American Idol. Our minds are turned to mush watching Survivor while our survival is being threatened by Islamo-fascism and a group of government leaders who seem to have lost their everloving minds. We need to find "men with chests" as C.S. Lewis would put it. Men and women who realize the threats we face and are willing to act and react accordingly. We can lay down our arms and stop fighting and die knowing that the cause of Allah has triumphed over the ideals of freedom. I propose that we don't.

God bless!

 Up and at 'em

I'm off to work this morning. The only thing worse than getting up and going to work everyday would be not getting up and going to work everyday. Growing kids gotta eat!

"This award is my god now!"

Comedienne Kathy Griffin is under fire for some remarks she made at some irrelevant award show. Upon receiving her award she said, "a lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus." As she left the stage she apparently made another remark about Jesus and then stated, "This award is my god now!" Certain religious leaders (I hesitate to say Christian) want her comments to be censored when this show is broadcast. I argue that she shouldn't be censored for ridiculing Christ, because I don't want anyone else censored when they praise Him. Besides, Jesus is big enough to handle the rantings of some self-absorbed bimbo, after all he was able to handle the burden of my sins and they are many. What do you think?

God bless.
